Annual Bronte Creek Family Fun Day and Duck Dash

On June 18, 2016 over 300 people came to Courtcliffe Park in Carlisle, Hamilton, ON for the 5th Annual Bronte Creek Family Fun Day and Duck Dash. This community event was planned by Trout Unlimited Canada in partnership with Conservation Halton, the Carlisle Optimist Club and the Courtcliffe Park Committee. This year’s event was sponsored by TD Friends of the Environment Foundation and Conservation Halton Foundation.

Families who attended learned about the ecology of Bronte Creek in a fun and captivating way. The nine interactive activity stations were facilitated by volunteers from the following organizations: Trout Unlimited Canada, Ted Knott Chapter of TUC, Courtcliffe Park Committee, Conservation Halton, Izaak Walton Fly Fishing Club, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, City of Hamilton and the Carlisle Optimist Club who also served a complimentary BBQ lunch to event attendees. Free wagon rides through the park were provided by Regional Tractor Sales Ltd.

Many thanks to the City of Hamilton for providing the park space. Thanks also to Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows, 4 Imprint, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Ontario Family Fishing Events, Tim Horton’s and Yes Pizza for their support of the event. Lastly, thanks to everyone who attended and to the families who gave donations to help support the continuation of community events like this.
