Trout Unlimited Canada is proud to be a community partner and strong advocate for keeping our watersheds healthy through the Caring for Our Watersheds program. This program is held in locations across Canada, the United States, and Argentina and provides a great opportunity for project-based learning. It invites students in grades 7-12 to answer the question, “What can you do to improve your watershed?” Students are asked to write a proposal about real changes they could make in their community, and the best part is that there is funding available to turn these ideas into reality!

We want to do our part to ensure Alberta’s youth can demonstrate their commitment to improving their natural surroundings, and we need your help to ensure this opportunity is available to all grades 7 – 12 students. This entails helping us educate youth on our local watersheds, encouraging them to identify a concern, devise a course of action and implement a solution to that concern. Together we provide a stronger resource base in reaching out to our local youth to raise awareness about our watersheds and continually increase participation in the program.
