Piper Creek Workday

You are invited to join TUC, ReThink Red Deer, and Living Lands Landscape Design for a multi-activity workday extravaganza at the Piper Creek Restoration Agriculture Project Site on June 12th, 2016 from 9:30 to 3:30. Sandwich lunch will be provided. VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES Butterfly Hibernaculum and Pollinator Hotel Construction with Living Lands Landscape Design Where would we be without our amazing pollinators? Help give back to this important community of insects through the construction of Red Deer’s newest 5-star pollinator destination. Fence Building/Nestbox Installation with ReThink Red Deer Get your Sunday workout with ReThink Red Deer! Helping install a new fence complete with nestboxes for swallows and wrens will be the main focus of this activity. Riparian Planting with Trout Unlimited Canada Help TUC restore riparian health by getting your hand’s (and clothes) dirty, we have our work cut out for us with a target of 175 Poplar, Gooseberry, Saskatoon, and Willow to plant and protect from the local herbivores. Be prepared to have fun and get your hands dirty!
