Water Edu-Kit Learnings

Water Edu-Kit Learnings-Trout Unlimited Canada’s Water Edu-Kits promotes water literacy in today’s youth and adults alike.

The Water Edu-Kit (WEK) program was designed with the public in mind so that everyone can connect with nature while learning about their local water bodies. We are grateful for the support of the program by the Alberta Conservation Association (ACA) for enabling us to provide the program across Alberta to youth in Grades 7-9 and beyond.

Each kit provides all the tools people need to understand water quality parameters and have an outdoor experience that can be repeated through the seasons and years. Below are some of the comments from a group who recently used the Water Edu-Kit.

“We have been really enjoying the water test kit. So far, we have used it in two spots, with interesting results. We look forward to testing more spots, especially spots were we like to fish. We are going to continue to test water in as many spots as we can. The kits are helping us remember the importance of keeping our water clean, and to watch what goes down into our storm drains; which helps us enjoy catching fish and increases our chances. We think that more groups like ours could benefit from tools like this. We see school groups using the kits.” – Options Outdoor Adventures Group.
