Trout Unlimited Canada participates in World Water Day Celebrations.
Trout Unlimited Canada came together with over 180 Junior High students (Grades 7 and 8) from Chinook’s Edge School Division for H2Opia, on World Water Day in Innisfail, with a shared goal of improving watershed literacy. There was great engagement and lots great questions with Trout Unlimited Canada (Whirling Disease Presentation) and seven other water organizations including; Alberta Parks, Alberta Tomorrow ReThink Red Deer, Alberta Lake Management Society, Cows and Fish – Alberta Riparian Habitat Management Society and our host, the Red Deer River Watershed Alliance. Students took home a trout fish prints.
Later on in the day, Trout Unlimited Canada’s Yellow Fish Road helped to ‘Paint the Town Blue’ with CAWST at Telus Spark on World Water Day. Families enjoyed immersing themselves in the amazing action projects local youth are taking on to tackle water issues in communities here and abroad with CAWST. Trout Unlimited Canada participated in the event with other local water organizations; City of Calgary – Your Local Government, Green Calgary, Cows and Fish – Alberta Riparian Habitat Management Society and the Friends of Fish Creek Provincial Park Society who work to ensure we all have safe and healthy water.
